Taib condemns church attack in Sarawak
KUCHING, Jan 11 — Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud has strongly condemned yesterday’s attack on a church in Lutong, Miri.
He described it as the most dastardly thing that anyone could do.
The chief minister was speaking to reporters at the Hornbill Skyway after arriving from Kuala Lumpur here this evening.
He was asked to comment on the stone-throwing incident at the Lutong Good Shepherd church in Miri, which left several window panes shattered.
Taib said that in Sarawak, the people had always lived peacefully with one another and respected each other’s religion.
“I remember my great grandfather...when the Christian mission first come to Mukah, he offered to help build their church. This is not against Islam,” he said. — Malaysia insider
